WordCamp 是由各地區用戶發起的非正式大會，討論 WordPress 這個打造全球超過 7500 萬個網站、自由開源的部落格軟體與之相關的話題。2006 年 Matt Mullenweg 在美國舊金山舉行了第一屆 WordCamp，從那時起，WordPress 社群已發起累計 1005 場 WordCamp，地點遍及 6 大洲、65 個國家與 74 個城市。

2016 年末，台北開始了每月不間斷的小聚活動，平均參與人數約 20 位，目標設定在不分年齡性別與職業，對 WordPress 網站有興趣的同好，大家透過持續參與活動交流並且為台灣 WordPress 社群奠下基礎。2018 年由一群熱愛開源的夥伴集結號召，與日本社群導師一同完成台灣第一屆 WordCamp Taipei 2018，活動非常成功。

活動過後大家的熱情不減，2019 年開始更是快速成長，全台灣陸陸續續有主辦自發號召小聚，時至今日，每個月平均已經有 12 場的小聚在全台灣舉辦，這樣的討論熱度造就今年 WordCamp Taipei 2019 的主題：社群。

我們希望各種領域使用到網站資源的夥伴，都可以來認識這樣開源的工具，更能因為不同領域而創造出合作的火花，WordPress 就像是我們會說的語言，彼此互相幫助，這裡就是一個大家庭，大社群。

WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress, the free and open source personal publishing software that powers over 75 million sites on the web. The first WordCamp was organized in San Francisco by Matt Mullenweg in 2006, and since then, WordPress community members have held a total of 1005 WordCamps in 74 cities, 65 countries, and 6 continents.

Starting at the end of 2016, WordPress meetups are held monthly in Taipei with an average of 20 participants. People of all ages, genders, and industries who are interested in WordPress came to join the meetups and unite together for Taiwan WordPress community. In 2018, the very first WordCamp Taipei 2018 was held by WordPress enthusiasts and achieved a successful conference event with the help of mentors from Japan WordPress community.

Taiwan WordPress community has grown rapidly since the last WordCamp. More and more people start organizing the meetups. Today, there are at least 12 monthly meetups in Taiwan. With the popularity in discussing WordPress related topics, WordCamp Taipei 2019 has come up with the theme “community”.

We hope that anyone who is using web resources could get to know WordPress, the open source tool, then apply it in different fields to create more opportunities. WordPress is like a universal language; we communicate, help each other and eventually connect together. It’s WordPress that unite us together. It is not simply a community; it has become a big family.
